The A13 was marketed on a 50-megapixel main camera — a big number on a cheap phone. It is worth understanding what that number does and does not tell you, because it is the single most misleading specification in the budget market.
Why megapixels are not photo quality
Megapixels measure resolution, not image quality. What actually determines how a photo looks:
- Sensor size — how much light it can gather, which is where budget phones are limited
- Lens quality
- Image processing, where flagships are far ahead
A 50MP budget sensor and a 50MP flagship sensor produce very different photographs. In good daylight the gap narrows; in low light it is obvious.
Judge a budget phone’s camera by sample photos, not by the headline number.
