Mondo is an online platform where you can compare and apply for phone contracts, SIM-only plans and internet deals from Vodacom, MTN and Telkom. Mondo handles the application and delivery, but the contract itself is with the network, so the network’s credit checks, contract terms and cancellation rules apply. Use this page to see how Mondo’s route works, what to check in each offer, and how it compares with other contract deals available in South Africa.
Current Mondo Cellphone Contract Deals
CURRENT MARKET FACT (checked 25 September 2026 on Mondo’s phone deals listing): Mondo is a comparison and application service rather than a network. It sells contracts across Vodacom, MTN and Telkom, and each deal is quoted against a named network plan, which is what makes its listings directly comparable:
| Phone | Plan | Included | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| HUAWEI Nova Y63 128GB | My MTN Mega Flex R135 | R135 airtime, no bundled data | R199 PM x36 |
| Samsung Galaxy A16 128GB | My MTN Mega Flex R135 | R135 airtime, no bundled data | R209 PM x36 |
| Samsung A17 128GB | MTN Yellow Core | 1GB data, 50 minutes | R279 PM x36 |
| HONOR 400 Lite 256GB | MTN Yellow Core | 1GB data, 50 minutes | R329 PM x36 |
| iPhone 13 Pre-owned 128GB | Vodacom RED Core 1GB Unlimited | 1GB data, unlimited minutes, 150 SMS | R379 PM x36 |
| iPhone 14 Pre-owned 128GB | Vodacom RED Core 1GB Unlimited | 1GB data, unlimited minutes, 150 SMS | R399 PM x36 |
| iPhone 15 128GB | Vodacom RED Core 1GB Unlimited | 1GB data, unlimited minutes, 150 SMS | R579 PM x36 |
| Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB | MTN Yellow Deluxe | 6GB data, 250 minutes | R1 249 PM x36 |
Compare the plan column as carefully as the price. The two cheapest deals above sit on an airtime-only plan — R135 of airtime and no bundled data — so the real monthly cost is the instalment plus whatever data you buy separately. The iPhone 13 Pre-owned at R379 includes 1GB and unlimited minutes, which is a different proposition at a similar price point.
Mondo also listed “from” prices of R209 for the Samsung A17, R399 for the Galaxy A37, R479 for the iPhone 16e, R599 for the Galaxy S26 FE and R1 229 for the iPhone 17 Pro. Those are entry prices on the cheapest qualifying plan; attaching a larger bundle raises them.
Mondo’s website groups its connectivity offers into three main categories:
- Phone contracts: a handset plus a monthly airtime, data or minutes plan on a partner network.
- SIM-only plans: a monthly plan without a new device, for people who already own a phone they’re happy with.
- Internet deals: data and home or mobile internet options.
Mondo also features promotional sections, including 2-for-1 phone deals and deals grouped by monthly budget. Offers, devices and prices change often, and Mondo’s deal listings update throughout the month. Check the live monthly price, contract term and inclusions on Mondo before you apply. Don’t assume a deal you saw earlier is still available at the same price.

How Mondo’s model works
Mondo describes itself as a platform to “compare, apply and move forward” and operates under the Rewardsco Group. Its terms describe Mondo as a fulfilment provider that the networks authorise to process applications. In practice, that means:
| What happens | Who is responsible |
|---|---|
| Showing and comparing deals | Mondo |
| Taking your application and documents | Mondo |
| Credit and affordability assessment | The network (Vodacom, MTN or Telkom) |
| The contract you sign | The network |
| Delivery of the device and SIM | Mondo’s delivery process, per network |
| Monthly billing and account management after activation | The network |
| Cancellation during the cooling-off period | Governed by Mondo’s terms and the network’s policy |
This is different from buying directly in a network store, where the network runs the whole process. It is also very different from phone rental or device-financing routes, where you rent or pay off a device without a network contract.
Mondo Cellphone Phone Contract Deals
A Mondo phone contract bundles a handset with a monthly network plan. You pay a fixed monthly amount for the contract term, and that amount covers both the device and the airtime, data or minutes.
Mondo MTN, Vodacom and Telkom contract deals
Mondo lists deals from three networks. The network you choose affects coverage, plan structure, billing and after-sales service, so compare the network as carefully as the phone.
| Network on Mondo | What to compare | What to check before applying |
|---|---|---|
| Vodacom | Device options, data and minute inclusions, contract term | Coverage where you live and work, cooling-off rules, out-of-bundle rates |
| MTN | Device options, data and minute inclusions, contract term | Coverage, whether bonus data has a time limit, early cancellation terms |
| Telkom | Device options, data inclusions, contract term | Coverage, any connection fee, conditions for returning a device during the cooling-off period |
Mondo does not guarantee coverage, and neither do we. Check each network’s own coverage map for your address before you commit.
What Mondo is
Mondo is a provider that sells network contracts rather than operating a network of its own. That matters in three practical ways: the airtime, data and coverage come from the underlying network; the contract paperwork and the customer relationship run through Mondo; and any promotion Mondo runs is its own, so it will not necessarily match what the network sells directly.
If you are comparing a Mondo offer against a network’s own deal on the same handset, compare the plan inclusions and the term as carefully as the monthly figure.
Who a Mondo phone contract may suit
- People who want to compare several networks in one place instead of visiting separate stores.
- Buyers who prefer applying online and having the device delivered.
- Anyone comparing 2-for-1 or bundle-style offers across networks.
It may be less suitable if you want to collect a device in store the same day, or if you would rather deal with the network directly for every step.
Mondo Cellphone Deals by Brand
On the pages we checked, Mondo filters phone deals by these brands:
| Brand | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Apple (iPhone) | Storage size, model generation, monthly price difference between networks |
| Samsung Galaxy | A-series versus S-series pricing, data inclusions on the plan |
| Huawei | App ecosystem differences and plan value |
| HONOR | Entry and mid-range pricing against similar Samsung and OPPO models |
| OPPO | Mid-range specification against monthly cost |
| vivo | Entry-level pricing and inclusions |
The same phone can cost a different monthly amount on each network because the plan inclusions differ. Compare the total cost over the full contract term, not just the monthly figure. Stock depends on the network and the model, so check availability on Mondo at the time of applying.
Double and Bundle Deals
Mondo promotes a “2 For 1 Phone Deals” section. Offers like this can be built in different ways, so read the deal carefully to see which structure you are getting:
- A genuine 2-for-1 promotion: a second device is included in one contract price.
- Two devices financed together: both handsets are paid off within one monthly amount, which is often higher than a single-device deal.
- A bundled second device: a phone plus a tablet, smartwatch or other device, sometimes on a separate line.
Before choosing a double deal, check:
1. Whether there is one contract or two, and whether each device has its own SIM and plan. 2. What the monthly payment is for the full term. 3. Whether the second device is the same model or a lower-specification one. 4. What happens if you want to cancel or upgrade one device before the term ends. 5. Whether the credit assessment is based on the combined monthly commitment.
A higher combined monthly amount can affect the network’s affordability assessment, so a two-device deal is not automatically easier to get than a single contract.
Application, Delivery and Collection Options
Mondo’s process is online. Its site offers a quick apply option and a tool to track your application.
What to expect when applying
1. Choose a deal on Mondo and start the application. 2. Provide your details and documents. Network contracts generally require identification, proof of address, banking details and proof of income such as payslips or bank statements. Requirements vary by network and deal, so check what Mondo asks for when you apply. 3. Credit and affordability assessment. The network assesses your credit history and whether the monthly amount is affordable for you. Approval is not guaranteed, and the outcome depends on your circumstances and the network’s criteria. 4. Delivery. Mondo’s terms say you need to present your original ID and proof of residence when the device is delivered. Delivery arrangements differ by network. 5. RICA and activation. Your SIM must be registered before it goes live.
Collection and cooling-off
Mondo’s model is built around delivery. We did not see an in-store collection option on the pages we checked. If you need to collect in person, a network store or retailer may be a better fit.
Mondo’s terms set out a cooling-off period after delivery, and its length depends on the network. Some networks also require the device to stay sealed if you want to return it. Mondo and the network can charge cancellation fees outside the cooling-off period. Read the terms for your specific network before accepting delivery.
How to Compare Mondo Offers
Use the same checklist for every Mondo deal, and compare it against the same phone bought directly from the network or through another reseller.
| Factor | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Monthly price | The amount you’ll pay each month, and whether any part of it changes during the term |
| Contract term | How many months you’re committed for |
| Total cost | Monthly price multiplied by the term, plus any once-off fees |
| Inclusions | Data, minutes and SMS, and whether bonus data expires |
| Once-off fees | Connection or SIM fees shown at checkout |
| Network | Coverage at your address and workplace |
| Device | Exact model and storage, not only the series name |
| Cancellation | Cooling-off period for that network, plus early cancellation costs |
| Promotion validity | Whether the price or bonus is limited to a certain period |
When another route may fit better
- If you already have a phone you’re happy with, a SIM-only plan usually costs less than a phone contract.
- If a network contract isn’t a good fit for your credit situation, other models such as phone rental or device financing work differently. Compare their lock, ownership and payment terms carefully before choosing one.
- To compare other online and retail contract routes, see FoneYam contract deals and Blue Label Connect contract deals.
Mondo Cellphone Contract Deal FAQs
Is Mondo a network?
No. Mondo is a comparison and application platform. Its terms describe it as a fulfilment provider authorised by the networks. Your contract is with Vodacom, MTN or Telkom, depending on the deal you choose.
Which networks does Mondo offer?
On the pages we checked, Mondo lists Vodacom, MTN and Telkom. Check Mondo’s current listings, as the range of networks can change.
Does Mondo do a credit check?
Mondo takes your application, but the partner network assesses your credit history and affordability before approving a contract. The outcome depends on the network’s criteria and your financial circumstances, so approval is never guaranteed.
Can I get a Mondo deal with bad credit?
It depends on the network’s assessment. Mondo itself notes that networks look at missed payments, defaults and existing debt. If a contract isn’t approved, compare SIM-only, prepaid or lower-value device options that better match your circumstances.
What do I need when my Mondo phone is delivered?
Mondo’s terms say you need your original ID and proof of residence at delivery. Confirm the exact requirements for your network when you apply.
Can I cancel a Mondo contract?
Mondo’s terms include a cooling-off period that starts from delivery and differs by network. After that, Mondo and network cancellation fees may apply. Read the terms for your specific deal before signing.
Are Mondo 2-for-1 deals really two phones for one price?
Not always. Check whether the deal is a true 2-for-1 promotion, two devices financed in one monthly amount, or a bundled second device. Also check the monthly price and term for each device.
