The iPhone 13 Pro isn’t currently available on contract from South Africa’s main networks. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom and MTN didn’t list it online, new or pre-owned, and Apple no longer sells it in South Africa. Our earlier checks of Telkom and Cell C didn’t find it either.
What you can get is the standard iPhone 13 on pre-owned contracts, or a current Pro model such as the iPhone 17 Pro. This page compares both routes, explains what the Pro features are worth to you, and covers what to check before applying. For the whole Apple range, see iPhone Contract Deals.
Compare iPhone 13 Pro Contract Deals
Here’s where the iPhone 13 Pro and its closest alternatives stood on each network’s online shop.
| Network | iPhone 13 Pro listed? | Closest alternatives listed |
|---|---|---|
| Vodacom | No | Pre-owned iPhone 13 and iPhone 14; new iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max |
| MTN | No | Pre-owned iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 |
| Telkom | No (team check, not re-verified) | Pre-owned iPhone 13; new iPhone 17 Pro |
| Cell C | No (team check, not re-verified) | Certified pre-owned iPhone 13; new iPhone 17 Pro |
iPhone 13 Pro vs the standard iPhone 13
Both phones use Apple’s A15 Bionic chip and a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. Apple’s tech specs show three differences that matter when you compare deals:
| Feature | iPhone 13 Pro | iPhone 13 |
|---|---|---|
| Display refresh | ProMotion, up to 120Hz | Standard |
| Rear cameras | Telephoto, Wide and Ultra Wide (3x optical zoom in) | Main and Ultra Wide |
| GPU | 5-core | 4-core |
| Storage options | 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB | 128GB, 256GB, 512GB |
Both use a Lightning connector and support 5G. If you don’t need the telephoto camera or the smoother display, a pre-owned iPhone 13 gives you most of the same experience for less.
Monthly Price and Contract Term
Because no network listed the iPhone 13 Pro, there’s no current price to compare. If you see an iPhone 13 Pro contract advertised elsewhere, check who is financing it, the phone’s condition and the full contract term.
What the alternatives cost (checked September 2026)
| Alternative | Network | Listed from |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-owned iPhone 13 128GB | MTN | R399 pm x 36 |
| Pre-owned iPhone 14 128GB | MTN | R449 pm x 36 |
| Pre-owned iPhone 13 128GB (2 phones) | Vodacom | R599 pm x 36 |
| Pre-owned iPhone 14 128GB (2 phones) | Vodacom | R649 pm x 36 |
| iPhone 17 Pro 256GB (new) | Vodacom | R1,079 pm |
| iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB (new) | Vodacom | R1,129 pm |
The gap between a pre-owned iPhone 13 and a new Pro model is large. Decide whether Pro features are worth the extra each month before you compare plans.
Contract length
MTN’s pre-owned deals were on 36-month terms. Longer terms lower the monthly amount but raise the total, so multiply the monthly price by the number of months and add any once-off fees.
Data, Minutes and Included Extras
The cheapest “from” price is normally the smallest plan. When you compare, look at:
- Anytime data each month
- Minutes and SMSes, and whether they’re capped
- Top-up plans that limit out-of-bundle spend
- What’s included with pre-owned phones, such as a cable or charger
A Pro phone is often chosen for video and photos, which can use a lot of data. Make sure the bundle fits how you’ll use it.
Current Networks, Retailers or Providers
Vodacom
Vodacom’s pre-owned iPhone promotion listed the iPhone 11, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, with no Pro models. Its new range includes the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. See Vodacom’s pre-owned iPhone range for current stock.
MTN
MTN’s pre-owned section showed only the standard iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.
Telkom
In our team’s check earlier this month, Telkom’s only pre-owned iPhone was the standard iPhone 13. Its shop didn’t load for us on the day of writing, so check it directly.
Cell C
Cell C listed a certified pre-owned iPhone 13 and the iPhone 17 Pro in the same earlier check, but not the iPhone 13 Pro.
Upfront Costs, Fees and Promotion Terms
Before you sign for an alternative, check:
- Connection or SIM fees on the deal page
- Deposits, which may be requested after a credit assessment
- Delivery charges for your area
- Customer type: whether the price is for new lines, upgrades or both
- Pre-owned terms, including grading, battery health, warranty and returns
- Annual price increases in the contract terms
What to Check Before You Apply
1. “Pro” in the listing. A pre-owned iPhone 13 isn’t a 13 Pro; it has no telephoto camera or ProMotion. 2. Storage. Pre-owned deals we found were 128GB. If you shoot a lot of video, weigh that up. 3. New or pre-owned. Confirm warranty and condition on pre-owned phones. 4. Total cost. Monthly price × term, plus once-off fees. 5. Documents and checks. Expect to provide ID, proof of address and bank details. Networks may run credit and affordability checks, and approval isn’t guaranteed.
To compare the most affordable route, see iPhone 13 Contract Deals. If a lower monthly cost matters more than the newest features, iPhone 11 Contract Deals are cheaper still.
iPhone 13 Pro Contract Deals FAQs
Can I get an iPhone 13 Pro on contract in South Africa?
Not from Vodacom or MTN when we checked in September 2026, and our earlier checks of Telkom and Cell C didn’t find it.
Is a pre-owned iPhone 13 the same as an iPhone 13 Pro?
No. They share the A15 Bionic chip and screen size, but the iPhone 13 has no telephoto camera, no ProMotion display and fewer GPU cores.
What’s the closest Pro alternative on contract?
The iPhone 17 Pro. Vodacom listed the 256GB from R1,079 pm, checked September 2026.
I searched for a HUAWEI, Xiaomi, OPPO or Redmi “13 Pro”. Is this the right page?
This page covers the Apple iPhone 13 Pro only. Those are different phones from different brands, so check the relevant brand’s range on each network’s site.
Will the iPhone 13 Pro return as a pre-owned deal?
That depends on network pre-owned stock, which changes. Check the pre-owned sections before you apply.
