iPhone 13 contract deals in South Africa are now pre-owned deals. Apple no longer lists the iPhone 13 in its current South African lineup, but all four major networks had pre-owned iPhone 13 stock on contract when we checked in September 2026. Telkom listed it from R339 pm, MTN from R399 pm x 36, Vodacom only as a two-phone deal at R599 pm x 36 for both phones, and Cell C offered a certified pre-owned version. Every listing we found was for 128GB.
The iPhone 13 is one of the lower-cost ways to get a 5G iPhone on contract. To weigh it against new models, see our iPhone Contract Deals page.

Here’s what each network showed online on the day we checked.
| Network | Condition | Storage | Lowest listed price (checked September 2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Telkom | Pre-owned | 128GB | From R339 pm | Midnight, in stock |
| MTN | Pre-owned | 128GB | From R399 pm x 36 | Listed under “Preowned” |

What you’re getting
According to Apple’s tech specs, the iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch OLED display, the A15 Bionic chip and 5G support, and it charges through a Lightning connector. It was originally sold in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, but the contract stock now available is 128GB.
Pre-owned and certified pre-owned
Pre-owned phones are used devices that have been checked and resold. Cell C labels its version “Certified Pre Owned”. Terms differ by network, so ask each one about:
- cosmetic grading
- minimum battery health
- warranty length and what it covers
- returns if the device is faulty
Monthly Price and Contract Term
Telkom
Telkom’s iPhone 13 Preowned page showed 128GB in Midnight from R339 pm, in stock, for new contracts and upgrades. The contract term wasn’t shown on the page, so confirm it on the deal.
MTN
MTN listed the pre-owned iPhone 13 128GB from R399 pm x 36.
Vodacom
Vodacom’s pre-owned iPhone listing showed the iPhone 13 128GB “from R599 pm”, with a once-off price of R7,849 per phone. On contract, that R599 pm x 36 is for two pre-owned iPhone 13s on one deal, not one phone. We didn’t find a single-phone iPhone 13 contract at Vodacom.
12, 24 or 36 months?
The networks’ pre-owned iPhone 13 prices we saw were mostly 36-month deals. We didn’t find 12-month iPhone 13 contracts. A shorter term usually means a higher monthly payment but less total commitment on an older phone.
As an example of total cost, MTN’s R399 pm x 36 works out to R14,364 over the contract before any fees. Compare that with Vodacom’s once-off price of R7,849 plus the cost of a SIM-only plan you’d pay separately. The contract includes a plan, so the gap isn’t all device cost, but it shows why the total matters.
Data, Minutes and Included Extras
Low-cost iPhone 13 deals usually pair the phone with a small plan. Vodacom’s two-phone bundle, for example, used a RED Flexi plan with R170 airtime and a free charger per phone.
Compare:
- data allocation and whether it’s anytime data
- minutes or flexible airtime
- included accessories, such as a charger
- out-of-bundle rates once your allocation runs out

Cell C’s contract page listed the iPhone 13 128GB Certified Pre Owned on its Elevate plan. Prices didn’t load when we checked.
Bradlows, Capitec and other retailers
We didn’t verify iPhone 13 contract offers from retailers or banks. If you see one, check whether it’s a contract, a credit account or a cash purchase.
Upfront Costs, Fees and Promotion Terms
- Connection or once-off fees
- Delivery costs
- Deposits after a credit assessment
- Stock limits, because pre-owned deals depend on available units
- Promotion validity and any price escalation terms
What to Check Before You Apply
1. Condition and warranty: ask about grading, battery health and warranty cover. 2. Single or double deal: confirm you’re comparing one-phone prices. 3. Storage: the listings were 128GB. If you need 256GB, pre-owned contract stock may not be available. 4. Colour: Telkom showed Midnight; other colours depend on stock. Pink wasn’t shown on the listings we checked. 5. Total cost: monthly price × term, plus fees. 6. Application: expect ID, proof of address and bank details, plus credit and affordability checks. Approval isn’t guaranteed.
