The iPhone 11 is now only available on contract in South Africa as a pre-owned phone, and options are limited. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom was the only major network listing it online: a pre-owned iPhone 11 64GB from R329 pm x 36 on a RED Core plan with 1GB data and unlimited minutes. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 11, and MTN, Telkom and Cell C didn’t list it on contract.
It’s the lowest-cost iPhone contract we found, but it’s also the oldest, and it doesn’t support 5G. Compare it with newer models on our iPhone Contract Deals page before deciding.

What the iPhone 11 offers today
Apple’s tech specs list the iPhone 11 with:
- a 6.1-inch LCD display
- the A13 Bionic chip
- 4G LTE, with no 5G
- a Lightning connector
- original storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB
If you want 5G, a pre-owned iPhone 13 is the nearest 5G option we found on contract.
Who the iPhone 11 suits
A pre-owned iPhone 11 contract can make sense if:
- you want an iPhone at the lowest monthly cost we found
- you mainly use calls, messaging, social apps and Wi-Fi
- 64GB of storage is enough, or you use cloud storage for photos
- 5G coverage isn’t a priority where you live and work
It’s less suitable if you keep phones for a long time, need more storage, or want the camera and battery of a newer model. In those cases, the extra monthly cost of a newer iPhone may be better value over a 36-month term.
Monthly Price and Contract Term
Vodacom listed the pre-owned iPhone 11 64GB on several plans, all on 36-month terms. It also showed a once-off price of R5,399.
| Vodacom plan | Data | Minutes | Monthly price (checked September 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| RED Core | 1GB | Unlimited | R329 pm x 36 |
| RED Core | 3GB | Unlimited | R379 pm x 36 |
| RED Core | 5GB | Unlimited | R429 pm x 36 |
| RED Core | 10GB | Unlimited | R479 pm x 36 |
| RED Core | 20GB | Unlimited | R579 pm x 36 |
| RED VIP 50GB | 50GB + 50GB Night Owl | Unlimited | R879 pm x 36 |
“Top Up” versions of the RED Core plans were listed at R30 more per month.
12, 24 or 36 months?
We only found 36-month iPhone 11 contracts. On a phone this old, think about how it will perform near the end of three years. If that’s a concern, compare the once-off price with a SIM-only plan instead.
Data, Minutes and Included Extras
Every Vodacom iPhone 11 deal we saw included unlimited minutes and a free charger. The main difference between plans was data, from 1GB up to 200GB on RED VIP.
For a budget iPhone, the 1GB or 3GB plans keep the monthly cost low. But once you pay for 10GB or more, you’re close to the starting price of a pre-owned iPhone 13, which adds 5G.
Top Up plans
The “Top Up” versions let you control spending beyond your included allocation. They cost slightly more per month, so decide whether that control is worth it.
Current Networks, Retailers or Providers
Vodacom
Vodacom listed the iPhone 11 64GB (Pre-Owned) in its pre-owned iPhone promotion. See Vodacom’s pre-owned deals for current plans.
MTN
MTN’s pre-owned listing included the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, but not the iPhone 11.
Telkom and Cell C
Neither listed the iPhone 11 on contract when we checked. Both offered a pre-owned iPhone 13.
128GB iPhone 11 contracts
We didn’t find a 128GB iPhone 11 on contract at the major networks. If you need more storage, a pre-owned iPhone 13 128GB is the closest alternative on contract.
Upfront Costs, Fees and Promotion Terms
- Connection or once-off fees
- Delivery costs
- Deposits after a credit assessment
- Pre-owned stock limits: deals can end once units sell out
- Price escalation clauses in the contract terms
What to Check Before You Apply
1. Condition: ask about cosmetic grading and battery health. 2. Warranty: confirm the warranty period on a pre-owned device. 3. Storage: the listing is 64GB. Check that’s enough for your photos and apps. 4. 5G: the iPhone 11 doesn’t support it. 5. Total cost: R329 pm x 36 is R11,844 over the term before fees, compared with a R5,399 once-off price at Vodacom. 6. Application: expect ID, proof of address and bank details, plus credit and affordability checks. Approval isn’t guaranteed.
