Samsung Galaxy phones are widely available on contract in South Africa. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C all listed Samsung phones, from entry-level Galaxy A models to the Galaxy S26 series and the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 foldables. The right deal depends on which Galaxy series fits your budget, which network you want, and whether a longer term or a bundled accessory changes the total cost.

Latest Samsung Contract Deals
Samsung South Africa currently groups its phones into three series:
- Galaxy S series: the flagship range, led by the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
- Galaxy Z series: foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8.
- Galaxy A series: mid-range and budget phones, including the Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G.
Networks also keep some previous-generation models, which can be worth comparing if you don’t need the newest release. When we checked, examples included the Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge and S25 FE, and the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE.
Offers change regularly. Networks run limited sales, online-only offers and freebies, so check the current listing and the offer end date before applying.

Vodacom
Vodacom showed a wide Samsung range online, covering all three Galaxy series and several previous-generation flagships. It’s a sensible starting point if you want a specific storage size or colour.
MTN
MTN listed a broad spread of Galaxy A models without an upgrade-only label. In its online shop, several flagships, including the Galaxy S26, Z Flip8 and Z Fold8, were marked “Upgrade only”, meaning they were aimed at existing MTN contract customers when we checked. The Galaxy S26 Ultra also showed that label online, but MTN’s September 2026 catalogue (valid until 6 October 2026) lists the S26 Ultra 256GB on a standard deal without it, alongside a separate upgrade deal.
Telkom
Telkom’s Samsung offers leaned towards bundles, pairing phones with a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds. Check whether a bundle’s extra device is included in the monthly price or adds to it.
Cell C
Cell C’s online contract range focused on Galaxy A models, alongside Galaxy Tab tablets on data contracts.
Popular Models on Contract
Galaxy A series
The Galaxy A range covers most budget and mid-range contracts. Models seen on networks included the Galaxy A17, A26 5G, A27 5G, A36 5G, A37 5G and A57 5G. MTN and Telkom no longer list the Galaxy A56; Samsung A56 Contract Deals covers the closest alternatives. The main differences are storage, camera quality, 5G support and build. For everyday use, a newer A model often covers most needs at a lower monthly cost than a flagship.
Galaxy S series
The Galaxy S26, S26 Ultra and S26 FE sit at the top of the range, with the S25 series still listed at some networks. The FE (“Fan Edition”) models usually sit below the standard S model in price. Compare storage options carefully, as higher storage tiers raise the monthly payment.
Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip
The Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8 were listed at Vodacom, MTN and Telkom. Foldables are among the most expensive phones on contract, so check the total cost over the term, and consider device insurance given the price of screen repairs.
Previous-generation Galaxy models
When a new Galaxy generation launches, networks often keep the previous one listed for a while. When we checked, that included the Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra and S25 Edge at Vodacom, the S25 FE at MTN and Telkom, and the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE at Vodacom. An older flagship can suit you if you want premium build and cameras but don’t need the newest features. Check that the model still receives software updates for the period you’ll use it, and compare its monthly cost against a newer mid-range Galaxy A model, which may cover your needs for less.

Samsung tablets and watches
Galaxy Tab tablets appear on data contracts (for example at Cell C), and Galaxy Watch models appear as bundle add-ons at Telkom. If you want a tablet or watch, compare it as a separate decision from your phone contract.
Compare Monthly Prices and Contract Terms
We don’t publish monthly Samsung prices on this page because network prices change often and depend on the plan attached. Use these checks when comparing offers:

Also check whether the price is for a new line, an upgrade or an online-only offer, as these can differ.
Double Deals and Device Bundles
Samsung phones feature in several multi-device offers, but they aren’t all structured the same way:
- 2 FOR 1 offers: MTN listed the Galaxy A26 5G as a 2 FOR 1 deal when we checked. Confirm whether both phones sit on one contract or two, and whether both lines carry monthly plan costs.
- Phone plus accessory bundles: Telkom paired phones such as the Galaxy A27 with Galaxy Buds Core, and the Galaxy S26, Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 with a Galaxy Watch.
- Combo and double deals: Telkom’s shop filters these separately. Check what’s financed and for how long.
Before choosing a bundle, ask whether you’d buy the extra device on its own. If not, a phone-only contract may cost less overall.
How to Choose the Right Deal
1. Pick the series first. Galaxy A for value, Galaxy S for flagship features, Galaxy Z if you want a foldable. 2. Decide how much storage you need. Upgrading storage adds to every monthly payment. 3. Compare the same model across networks. Look at plan inclusions, not just the monthly figure. 4. Check eligibility. Some offers are upgrade-only or online-only. 5. Work out the total cost. Include once-off fees and the full term. 6. Consider an older model. Previous-generation S or Z models can offer similar everyday use for less. 7. Check coverage in the areas where you’ll use the phone most.
New contract or upgrade?
If you’re already on contract, check your upgrade date first. Upgrade offers can differ from new-line offers, and some Samsung flagships were only offered as upgrades at MTN when we checked. If you’re switching networks, confirm whether you can keep your number and whether the new network’s offer applies to ported numbers.
What you may need to apply
Providers carry out credit and affordability checks before approving a contract, so outcomes depend on your circumstances. Cell C, for example, lists a valid South African ID, recent proof of residence and recent bank statements or payslips as application documents. Other networks have their own requirements, so check before you start an application.
Protecting an expensive phone
Flagship and foldable Galaxy phones are costly to repair. Before signing, check what the manufacturer warranty covers, whether the network offers device insurance, and what the excess would be if you claim.

Is a 36-month contract better than 24 months?
A 36-month term usually lowers the monthly payment, but you pay for longer and may pay more in total. Compare both if the network offers them.
Can I get a Samsung tablet or watch on contract?
Galaxy Tab tablets were listed on Cell C data contracts, and Galaxy Watch models appeared in Telkom bundles. Availability changes, so check current listings.
