What the A7x tier was for
It sat above the A5x models: a larger screen, a bigger battery, and specifications closer to a flagship. It was the choice for people who wanted a big, capable phone without flagship pricing.
That gap closed. The A5x models grew larger and better, absorbing what the A7x offered, and Samsung simplified the range accordingly.
