A 5G router is the hardware that turns a 5G signal into home WiFi. It costs meaningfully more than an LTE router, which makes one question worth settling before anything else: do you actually have usable 5G coverage where the router will stand?
Confirm coverage before buying hardware
5G uses higher frequency bands than LTE. They carry far more data but travel shorter distances and pass through walls less easily, so coverage can differ between rooms in one house — let alone between neighbouring properties.
