Compare 2 Phones On 1 Contract Deals
Two-phone offers sit within the wider group of Double Contract Deals, which also covers phone-and-tablet pairs and bundles with wearables. This page focuses on two phones.
Here’s how the four main networks presented their two-phone offers when we checked in September 2026:

The names sound similar, but they aren’t interchangeable. “2 FOR 1” on MTN does not mean the same thing as Double Deals on Vodacom, and neither means you get a second phone with no strings attached. You’re committing to a contract that covers both devices for the full term.
Same phone twice, or two different phones?
- Same model twice: the most common structure across all four networks.
- Two different phones: Vodacom offers “two different phones” from the same brand. Cell C and Telkom listed some mixed pairs too.
- Phone plus tablet or wearable: available on some networks, but that’s a different decision from two phones.
What Is Included in the Deal
A two-phone deal normally includes:
1. Two handsets, financed over the contract term. 2. A main plan with data, minutes and SMSs, usually linked to the first device. 3. Something for the second device. This is where networks differ most:
- Vodacom showed a second SIM on a separate plan (RED Flexi 90 on the deal we checked).
- MTN showed a second plan attached to the second device, marked as free with the deal.
- Telkom listed its double deals under FlexOn 2. Its online shop didn’t show whether each line gets a full FlexOn 2 allocation, so confirm this before you order.
- Cell C’s combo page showed one package and two handsets, but didn’t say whether a second SIM is included. 4. Extras, on some deals only, such as bundled watches or earbuds, promotional data or insurance offers.
What to check on the second phone
- Does it come with its own SIM and number?
- What airtime, data or minutes does the second SIM get each month?
- Is the second line a TopUp (capped) plan or full postpaid (out-of-bundle usage billed)?
- Does the second line’s allocation end before the main contract does?
Monthly Cost and Contract Length
Every two-phone listing we checked showed one monthly figure covering both devices. Most deals run for 36 months. Cell C also offered a 24-month option on the combo we checked.
A 36-month term keeps the monthly amount lower, but you’ll pay for longer and may wait longer to upgrade. Compare these costs:

Work out the total cost of the contract, then compare it with two separate single-phone contracts or one contract plus a prepaid phone. Networks present double deals as cheaper than two separate contracts, but the gap depends on the plans. The second line often has a much smaller allocation than a standard contract.
Cancellation and upgrades
This is the part most buyers skip. Check it before you apply:
- Early cancellation: Vodacom’s contract terms require 20 business days’ notice and can include the remaining device balance and the device discount. On a two-phone deal, that could cover both handsets.
- Cancelling one phone only: none of the official pages we checked explained whether you can end one line and keep the other. Ask the network directly.
- Upgrades: Vodacom and MTN both let you apply for these deals as an upgrade. Check whether upgrading later applies to both devices at once or to the main line only.
- End of term: many contracts continue month to month unless you cancel or upgrade. Check what happens to the second SIM’s allocation.

Vodacom
Vodacom’s Double Deals include same-phone pairs, different-phone pairs and phone-and-tablet pairs. The listings include Android handsets and iPhone models. You can apply for a new contract or as an upgrade.
MTN
MTN marks two-phone offers “2 FOR 1” in its phones section. When we checked, the listings were Android handsets on 36-month terms, with the second device on its own entry-level plan.
Telkom
Telkom lists “Double deals” in its online shop and monthly catalogue under FlexOn 2. On 12 September 2026, double-line orders couldn’t be completed online. Telkom asked customers to request a call-back instead.
Cell C
Cell C doesn’t use the name “double deal”. Two-phone offers appear as “combo” deals on its contracts page, alongside phone-and-watch and laptop-and-router combos.
Retailers that sell network contracts may also carry some of these deals. Confirm which network the contract is with and who handles it after the sale.
Who This Deal Is Best For
A two-phone contract can suit you if:
- you’re buying phones for yourself and a partner, parent or teenager, and want one bill;
- the second person needs a basic allocation, not a full plan;
- you already qualify for a contract and can take on the combined monthly commitment.
It may not suit you if:
- both people need large data allocations (two separate contracts may fit better);
- you might want to split the phones or cancel one line before the term ends;
- the combined payment would stretch your budget for 36 months.
Credit and affordability checks usually apply to the account holder for the full deal. Approval isn’t guaranteed.
