Cellucity is a Vodacom dealer, so every Cellucity contract is a Vodacom contract. You will not find MTN, Telkom or Cell C contracts there. Cellucity sells Vodacom phone, data and upgrade deals through its stores in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape, and online. It also sells prepaid (SIM-free) and pre-owned phones outright. Before applying, compare the Vodacom plan, the contract term, the monthly amount and any trade-in conditions against the same device on Vodacom’s own channels.
Cellucity is one of several routes listed under contract deals by retailer. If you have not chosen a network yet, compare contract deals across networks first.
Current Cellucity Contract Deals
CURRENT MARKET FACT (checked 25 September 2026 on Cellucity’s online store): Cellucity is a Vodacom dealer, trading since 1994. It sells devices outright online and runs contract and upgrade deals through a separate digital catalogue and an in-store application route.
These were the outright cash prices listed online when we checked, which are the useful reference point when judging whether a contract on the same device is worth it:
| Device | Cash price from |
|---|---|
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro 256GB | R27 899 |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB | R30 699 |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro 512GB | R32 799 |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro 1TB | R42 599 |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro 2TB | R56 399 |
| Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max 2TB | R58 799 |
Several of those were marked online exclusive, so an in-store price for the same handset may differ. Cellucity did not publish contract monthly prices on the pages we checked — its contract and upgrade deals sit in the digital catalogue and are applied for separately, so confirm the monthly figure and the plan attached to it before committing.
Use the cash prices above as your baseline. Multiply any contract monthly by the term, add any upfront or connection fee, and compare that total against the outright price for the same storage size. On a high-end handset the gap between the two routes is usually several thousand rand.
CURRENT MARKET FACT (checked September 2026 on Cellucity’s contract listings): Cellucity’s contract listings are organised by device and Vodacom price plan. The listings checked showed Vodacom RED Core, RED Core TopUp and Red Flexi plans, mostly over 24 months. Some homepage promotions were shown over 36 months. Cellucity’s FAQ says contracts generally run for 24 or 36 months and then continue month to month until you upgrade or cancel.
Cellucity lets you filter contract deals by deal type:
| Deal type filter | What it usually means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Voice-Data | Phone with a plan that includes minutes and data | Minutes, data and out-of-bundle rates |
| Data-Only | Data plan, often with a tablet, router or data device | Whether the device suits your use |
| Flexi | Vodacom Flexi-style plan with a set monthly value | How the value splits between data and airtime |
| Trade-In | Contract price that depends on trading in an eligible device | Which trade-in category your old phone falls into |
| Double-Deal | Two-device offer on contract | How each device is financed |
Several current listings are labelled with a trade-in category. That means the advertised monthly amount may depend on handing over a qualifying old phone. Check the trade-in conditions before comparing that price with a standard deal.
We have not quoted prices because listings change often. Check the current deal page on the day you apply.
Cellucity Phone Contract Deals
New Vodacom contracts
A new contract through Cellucity is signed with Vodacom, and Cellucity acts as the dealer. Vodacom sets the plan terms and makes the credit decision. Cellucity’s FAQ says Vodacom now connects directly to credit bureaus and the Home Affairs database, so the paperwork required has been simplified. You will still need ID and a proof of residence no older than three months, and extra documents may be requested.
Upgrades
Existing Vodacom customers can upgrade online or at a Cellucity store. Before upgrading, compare:
- the new plan against your current plan, since upgrades can change your data and minutes;
- whether any trade-in-linked price actually applies to your old device;
- the full monthly amount over the new term, not just the headline price.
What happens when the contract ends
Cellucity’s FAQ notes that at the end of the term, the contract continues month to month. The subscription then reverts to the standard package price. Any promotional discount or device repayment falls away, so check your bill when the term ends.
Cellucity or Cellular City?
Both names get searched, and they are not the same business. Cellucity is the retailer covered on this page. If you have been given a quote by a store trading under a similar name, check the trading name on the paperwork and the VAT number before you sign, because the contract terms and the after-sales route differ by retailer.
Cellucity’s role
Cellucity describes itself as Vodacom’s oldest independent dealer, trading since 1994. Whatever its history, the practical point is that you are comparing Vodacom deals sold through a dealer rather than a multi-network marketplace.
Cellucity Deals by Brand
Cellucity lists devices from Apple, Samsung, HUAWEI, HONOR, Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo, plus Vodacom-branded tablets.
| Brand | Sold on Vodacom contract? | Also sold outright? |
|---|---|---|
| Apple iPhone | Yes, where listed | Yes, new and pre-owned |
| Samsung Galaxy | Yes, including current S-series listings | Yes, new and pre-owned |
| HUAWEI, HONOR, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi | Yes, where listed | Yes |
| Vodacom Smart Tab range | Listed | Yes |
Pre-owned phones
Cellucity has a large pre-owned range, mainly iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, sold with condition grades. Its FAQ says pre-owned devices pass a 40-point quality check and are PhoneCheck certified. Ask in store whether a specific pre-owned device can be put on a Vodacom contract. We could not confirm this online.
Prepaid and open phones
Prepaid devices at Cellucity are SIM-free and open to all networks unless the listing says otherwise. That makes them an option for MTN, Telkom or Cell C users who want a phone without a Vodacom contract. Payment options for outright purchases include PayJoy, LayUp, Mobicred, Payflex, Happy Pay, FASTA and Easy 2 Own. These are finance or instalment products, not network contracts. Check their fees, interest and terms separately.
Double and Bundle Deals
Cellucity’s contract filter includes a Double-Deal option, so two-device offers are part of its range. Double deals can be structured in different ways:
- Two devices financed on one plan. One monthly amount covers both, with both repaid over the term.
- A phone plus a second device. For example, a phone bundled with a tablet or accessory.
- A genuine promotional second device. A reduced-cost or free second device, stated in the offer terms.
Cellucity listings also show data top-up style offers, where an extra amount of data is added to a plan. Check whether the extra data lasts for the whole contract or only a promotional period.
For any bundle, ask for the total monthly amount, the term and what happens if you cancel one element early.
Trade-in deals
Trade-in pricing is a big part of Cellucity’s current contract listings, so it is worth understanding before you compare. A trade-in deal gives you a lower monthly amount, or extra value, in exchange for handing over an eligible old device. The listings group these offers into trade-in categories, which suggests that the device you trade in affects which price you qualify for. Before relying on a trade-in price:
- confirm which category your current phone falls into, and what condition it must be in;
- ask what happens if the device is assessed at a lower grade in store;
- compare the trade-in deal with selling the old phone yourself and taking the standard contract price;
- check whether the saving is spread across the whole contract or applied once.
Application, Delivery and Collection Options
Apply online, finish in store
Cellucity’s FAQ describes a hybrid process. You start your application online, the team credit vets it in advance, and you then visit a store where the device and contract can be set up. Cellucity also lets you book an in-store appointment, which helps avoid queues when you finalise.
Stores
Cellucity lists branches in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape. If you live outside these provinces, check whether an online-only contract journey is available for your area before applying.
Delivery
Cellucity sells products online. However, we could not confirm on its official pages whether contract devices can be delivered to your home rather than collected. Ask when you apply. Contract devices normally involve RICA, which requires the account holder’s ID.
Approval
Approval depends on Vodacom’s credit and affordability assessment. Cellucity cannot guarantee an outcome, and neither can we.
How to Compare Cellucity Offers
1. Compare with Vodacom directly. The same device and plan may be priced differently on Vodacom’s own site or in a Vodacom store. 2. Separate trade-in prices from standard prices. A trade-in-category price only applies if your old phone qualifies. 3. Check the plan type. RED Core, TopUp and Flexi plans treat out-of-bundle usage differently. 4. Work out the total cost. Multiply the monthly amount by the term, 24 or 36 months, and add any upfront payment. 5. Check the end-of-term price. The month-to-month price after the term may be higher. 6. Consider an open phone. If you are not on Vodacom, a SIM-free prepaid phone may suit you better than switching networks.
For other retailer models, see TFG contract deals for store-account phone purchases, and iStore contract deals for Apple devices across multiple networks.
