Telkom Data Sim Contract Deals

Telkom offers a variety of data SIM contract deals for both personal and home internet use, including SIM-only contracts and options that bundle a Wi-Fi router. The deals generally vary based on data allocation, contract length, and included features such as anytime data and night surfer data[3].

For LTE SIM-only contracts, Telkom provides options such as:

  • 160GB LTE SIM Only: R219 per month, month-to-month contract. Includes 80GB anytime data and 80GB night surfer data. This contract allows cancellation with 30 days’ notice and no penalty fees[6].
  • SIM + Wi-Fi Router: R279 per month over a 24-month contract, same data allocation as above. If you cancel early, you only pay the remaining cost of the router (pro-rata), with no penalty for the subscription portion[6].
  • 2TB LTE SIM Only: From R699 per month (contract required). Limited to Telkom 4G network coverage only[5].

Other LTE deals include various capped data packages, such as 12.5GB to 180GB monthly options starting from R105, with SIM-only contracts. Most packages feature Telkom’s 4G network with no roaming on partner networks[5].

Some of the latest contract promotions (valid July – August 2025) pair large monthly data allocations (e.g., 15GB all-network anytime data) with additional features like unlimited Telkom-to-Telkom minutes, 300 all-network minutes, and unlimited SMSs. These contracts often include a 20GB once-off data bonus on activation. Devices may be financed as part of the contract, or you can select SIM-only plans for a lower monthly fee. A once-off SIM and connection fee of R99 applies to new contracts[3].

For additional convenience and flexibility, contracts typically offer data rollover on anytime data for up to 60 days, and top-up options via self-service portals or mobile apps. Night Surfer data is commonly available between midnight and 7am and does not roll over[7].

Be aware that contract prices were increased by an average of 5% from June 2025 due to rising operational costs. This price hike applies to most SIM-only data, wireless, and post-paid contracts, but not to device installment fees[1].
