realme South Africa’s site lists several phone families:
- C series: budget phones, including the C75, C75x, C71, C67 and C61.
- Note series: including the Note 60 and Note 60x.
- Number series: including the realme 12 5G and 12+ 5G.
- P series: including the P4 Power 5G.
- GT series: including the GT 7 Dream Edition.
On contract, the picture is much narrower. Vodacom listed:
- realme C75 (256GB, 4G) on a monthly plan.
- realme P4 Power 5G (8GB/256GB) on a monthly plan.
- realme GT7 Dream Edition, realme C61 and realme 12 5G, marked “Not available to purchase monthly”.

Vodacom is currently the network route for a realme contract. Its two monthly options cover a budget 4G phone (C75) and a 5G phone (P4 Power 5G).
MTN, Telkom and Cell C
None of these listed realme online when we checked. If you want to stay on one of these networks, you can buy a realme phone outright and use a SIM-only or prepaid plan, or compare similar Android phones they do carry on contract.

A budget 4G phone listed at Vodacom with 256GB storage. It may suit people who want plenty of storage for photos and apps without paying for 5G. Check the plan inclusions, since data allowance often matters more than handset specs at this price level.
realme P4 Power 5G
Listed at Vodacom with 8GB of memory and 256GB storage. As the name suggests, the P4 Power is positioned around battery life. It’s the only 5G realme phone we saw on a monthly plan, so it may suit you if you’re in a 5G coverage area and want a phone that lasts a full contract term.

Models such as the C71, C75x, Note 60 and 12+ 5G appear on realme’s South African site but weren’t seen on network contract listings. They may be available through retailers for outright purchase; check stock with the seller.

With only two realme models on contract, many buyers will compare these two routes:

Add up the total cost of each over the same period. For budget phones, the outright route is often worth pricing out, because a lower handset price means less cash is needed upfront.
Will a budget phone last a 36-month term?
A contract commits you for the full term, so think about how the phone will cope in two or three years. Storage fills up as apps grow and photos build up, batteries lose capacity over time, and older phones eventually stop receiving software updates. Both realme contract models listed 256GB storage, which gives some headroom. If you tend to replace phones sooner, a shorter term or an outright purchase may suit you better.
