realme phones have a limited contract presence in South Africa. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom was the only one of the four main networks listing realme, with two models on monthly plans: the realme C75 and the realme P4 Power 5G. Other realme models were listed for once-off purchase only, and MTN, Telkom and Cell C did not include realme in their online contract ranges. If you want a realme phone, compare Vodacom’s two contract options against buying outright and adding a SIM-only or prepaid plan.

realme South Africa’s site lists several phone families:

On contract, the picture is much narrower. Vodacom listed:

Because the contract range is small, it’s worth checking back regularly. Networks add and remove models as stock and promotions change.

realme Contract Deals by Network

Network realme on contract? (September 2026) Models seen
Vodacom Yes (two models) C75 and P4 Power 5G monthly; GT7 Dream Edition, C61 and 12 5G once-off only
MTN Not in phone brand filter
Telkom Not seen in smartphone gallery
Cell C Not in contract brand filter

This table reflects each network’s online shop when we checked. Store ranges can differ.

Vodacom

Vodacom is currently the network route for a realme contract. Its two monthly options cover a budget 4G phone (C75) and a 5G phone (P4 Power 5G).

MTN, Telkom and Cell C

None of these listed realme online when we checked. If you want to stay on one of these networks, you can buy a realme phone outright and use a SIM-only or prepaid plan, or compare similar Android phones they do carry on contract.

Popular Models on Contract

realme C75

A budget 4G phone listed at Vodacom with 256GB storage. It may suit people who want plenty of storage for photos and apps without paying for 5G. Check the plan inclusions, since data allowance often matters more than handset specs at this price level.

realme P4 Power 5G

Listed at Vodacom with 8GB of memory and 256GB storage. As the name suggests, the P4 Power is positioned around battery life. It’s the only 5G realme phone we saw on a monthly plan, so it may suit you if you’re in a 5G coverage area and want a phone that lasts a full contract term.

C75 or P4 Power 5G: which suits you?

If you… Consider Why
Want the lower-end contract option realme C75 Budget 4G phone with 256GB storage
Live or work in a 5G coverage area realme P4 Power 5G The only 5G realme phone seen on contract
Run lots of apps at once realme P4 Power 5G Listed with 8GB of memory
Mainly call, message and browse realme C75 4G may be enough for everyday use

Check coverage for both 4G and 5G in the places you use your phone most before deciding whether 5G is worth paying for.

realme GT7 Dream Edition, C61 and realme 12 5G

These were listed at Vodacom but not available monthly. If you want one of them, the route is an outright purchase paired with a SIM-only or prepaid plan.

Other realme models

Models such as the C71, C75x, Note 60 and 12+ 5G appear on realme’s South African site but weren’t seen on network contract listings. They may be available through retailers for outright purchase; check stock with the seller.

Compare Monthly Prices and Contract Terms

We don’t list realme monthly prices here because they change often and depend on the plan and term. Use these checks instead:

What to compare Why it matters
Monthly payment “From” prices are tied to a specific plan and term
Contract term Networks commonly offer 24- and 36-month terms; Cell C, for example, filters both. Longer terms lower the monthly payment but can raise the total
Plan inclusions Data, minutes and SMS vary between plans
Once-off fees Check SIM and connection fees in the network’s terms
Monthly availability Most realme models were once-off only when we checked
4G or 5G The C75 is 4G; the P4 Power is 5G
Total cost Monthly payment across the full term plus fees

Contract versus outright purchase plus SIM-only

With only two realme models on contract, many buyers will compare these two routes:

Add up the total cost of each over the same period. For budget phones, the outright route is often worth pricing out, because a lower handset price means less cash is needed upfront.

Will a budget phone last a 36-month term?

A contract commits you for the full term, so think about how the phone will cope in two or three years. Storage fills up as apps grow and photos build up, batteries lose capacity over time, and older phones eventually stop receiving software updates. Both realme contract models listed 256GB storage, which gives some headroom. If you tend to replace phones sooner, a shorter term or an outright purchase may suit you better.

Double Deals and Device Bundles

We didn’t see realme double deals or bundles on the network listings we checked. Vodacom does run double deals across brands, which can combine two phones or a phone and a tablet, so it’s possible to see realme included in future.

If a realme double deal or bundle appears, check:

How to Choose the Right Deal

1. Decide how set you are on realme. Contract options are limited to two models at Vodacom. 2. Choose between 4G and 5G. The C75 is 4G; the P4 Power 5G supports 5G. 3. Check storage and memory. Both contract models listed 256GB storage. 4. Compare contract against outright plus SIM-only. This is especially relevant for budget phones. 5. Consider similar phones on your preferred network if it doesn’t carry realme. 6. Work out the total cost across 24 or 36 months, including once-off fees. 7. Check warranty and repair support in South Africa before committing.

Comparing realme with similar brands

realme’s C and P series compete with budget and mid-range phones from several Android brands. Line up the same storage, battery capacity, 4G or 5G support and software update period when comparing. Over a long contract, reliable support and a suitable plan often matter more than small spec differences.

What you may need to apply

Contract applications involve credit and affordability checks, and approval depends on the provider. As an example, Cell C lists a valid South African ID, recent proof of residence and recent bank statements or payslips. Check Vodacom’s current requirements before applying for a realme contract.

realme Contract Deals FAQs

Can I get a realme phone on contract in South Africa?

Yes, but options are limited. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom listed the realme C75 and realme P4 Power 5G on monthly plans.

Which networks sell realme phones?

Vodacom listed realme phones online. MTN, Telkom and Cell C did not include realme in their online contract ranges when we checked.

Is the realme GT7 Dream Edition available on contract?

Vodacom listed it but marked it “Not available to purchase monthly” when we checked.

Is a realme phone better bought outright?

It depends on the model and your plan. Because most realme models weren’t on contract, buying outright plus SIM-only or prepaid is the main route for anything other than the C75 or P4 Power 5G.

Does realme have 5G phones on contract?

The realme P4 Power 5G was the only 5G realme phone we saw on a monthly plan, at Vodacom.

What should I check before buying a realme phone outright?

Confirm the seller is reputable, the warranty is valid in South Africa, and the model supports the network bands you’ll use. Then compare SIM-only and prepaid plans so the total cost is clear.

Can I upgrade to a realme phone on my current contract?

That depends on your network. Vodacom listed realme models online; other networks didn’t when we checked. Check your upgrade options with your network directly.

Do realme phones use Android?

Yes, realme phones run Android-based software. Check the specific model’s details if particular apps matter to you.
