The A70 was a large-screen phone with fast charging at a time when both were unusual outside flagships. It dates from 2019 and is past its software support window.
Fast charging: useful, and worth understanding
Fast charging changed how people use phones — a short top-up became genuinely useful, which matters more day to day than a slightly larger battery.
Two things worth knowing on any phone with it:
- You usually need the right charger. The speed depends on the adapter and cable, not just the phone. A generic charger will work slowly.
- Heat and frequent fast charging accelerate battery ageing. On a phone this old, that is part of why endurance has fallen.
The large-screen trade
A big screen is better for video, reading and anything involving two apps at once. It is worse for one-handed use and pocketability.
This is the single most personal decision in choosing a phone, and the one people most often get wrong by buying online without handling the device.

Past software support. The standard guidance applies:
- Do not finance one over 24 months
- Keep using it if you own it and it works
- Move banking and payment apps off it
- A battery replacement is worthwhile and inexpensive
