MTN offers the iPhone 15 128GB on contract to new and existing customers. Its September 2026 Y’ello Trader lists the iPhone 15 at R549 pm x 36 on Yellow Plans core (1GB anytime data, 60 all-network minutes), with no upgrade-only label (MTN catalogue valid until 6 October 2026, checked September 2026). A separate upgrade-only catalogue deal is R589 pm x 36, with core boosted to 3GB and 160 minutes. MTN’s online shop, when we checked on 12 September, showed its iPhone 15 plans from R579 pm x 36, all marked “Upgrade Only”. If you’re a new customer, ask MTN how to take up the R549 catalogue deal.

MTN’s other iPhone options, including the iPhone 16e and pre-owned models, are covered on MTN iPhone Contract Deals.

Source: MTN iPhone 15 128GB deal page, checked September 2026. MTN also listed Sky Premium Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, with 30GB to 200GB of anytime data.

In the online upgrade listing, the cheapest 36-month route was an airtime-based Mega Flex plan. The catalogue’s R549 core deal was lower still. If you mostly use data, compare the catalogue’s R589 upgrade deal, which boosts core to 3GB.

Monthly Price and Contract Term

The lowest catalogue price is R549 pm x 36 on core (MTN catalogue valid until 6 October 2026, checked September 2026). In the online upgrade listing, MTN’s order summary split the entry deal into R370 pm for the iPhone 15 and R209 pm for the Mega Flex R260 plan, which comes to R579 pm x 36. That split shows how much of your monthly bill is paying off the phone.

Shorter terms cost more each month. On Yellow Plus, the 24-month deal was R210 pm more than the 36-month deal. Over the full term, work out the total you’ll pay for each option, not just the monthly amount.

Data, Minutes and Included Extras

MTN offers two kinds of plan with the iPhone 15.

Yellow and Sky Premium plans

These give you a set amount of anytime data and all-net minutes, which cover calls to any South African network. The Sky Premium tiers add more data and, on other MTN iPhone deal pages we checked, extras such as savings on MTN Home Internet and priority service.

Mega Flex plans

These give you a monthly airtime value that you can use for calls or data, or to buy bundles. They suit people whose usage changes from month to month, but airtime can run out faster if you use a lot of out-of-bundle data.

Your usage Plan type to compare first

Current Networks, Retailers or Providers

MTN’s catalogue price is from its catalogue valid until 6 October 2026. Cell C’s iPhone 15 listing wasn’t marked as upgrade only either. Check each network’s plan inclusions and eligibility.

MTN’s catalogue also lists the iPhone 16e at R499 pm x 36 on core, and pre-owned iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models. For MTN’s wider range of phones and SIM-only plans, see MTN Contract Deals.

What to Check Before You Apply

Who the MTN iPhone 15 suits

When another option may be better

If you need more than 1GB of data, the R549 core deal may be too small, so price a bigger plan. If the iPhone 15 isn’t in stock, compare the iPhone 16e on MTN or the iPhone 15 on Cell C. If budget matters most, compare MTN iPhone 13 Contract Deals and MTN iPhone 14 Contract Deals, which are pre-owned phones at lower monthly prices.

1. Confirm which deal you qualify for: the R549 catalogue deal, or an upgrade deal if you’re due. 2. Compare 24- and 36-month totals for the plan you want. 3. Pick a plan that matches your real usage, so you don’t pay for extra bundles each month. 4. Check the order summary for fees, delivery and the device-versus-plan split. 5. Expect a credit and affordability check. MTN may assess your account before approving an upgrade, and approval isn’t guaranteed.
