HONOR phones are available on contract at all four main South African networks. When we checked in September 2026, Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C each listed HONOR models, ranging from budget X series phones to the HONOR 600 series and the Magic V5 foldable. HONOR deals are often bundled with a watch, earbuds or tablet, so the useful comparison is not just the phone, but what’s included and what you’d actually use.

Latest HONOR Contract Deals

HONOR South Africa groups its phones into three families:

The HONOR 600 series was the newest range being pushed by networks when we checked. Vodacom tagged a “HONOR 600 Series” promotion, MTN listed the 600 Lite, 600 and 600 Pro 5G, and Telkom listed the 600 and 600 Lite, including bundle versions.

The Magic V6 appears on HONOR’s South African site, but we didn’t see it on network contract listings at the time of checking.

Offers change often, particularly bundles and online-only prices. Check the current listing and offer end date before applying.

This table reflects what each network’s online shop showed. It isn’t a complete stock list.

Vodacom

Vodacom showed a wide HONOR range online, including the Magic8 Pro and Magic V5 foldable, which we didn’t see at the other networks. It also listed both the HONOR 400 and 600 series.

MTN

MTN listed HONOR’s X series and 600 series. The HONOR 600 and 600 Pro 5G were marked “Upgrade only”, meaning they were aimed at existing MTN contract customers.

Telkom

Telkom leaned heavily on bundles. Examples included the X7e with a Watch 2i and Earbuds X8i, the X5C Plus with a Pad X7 Wi-Fi tablet, and versions of the X7D 5G, 600 Lite and 600 paired with an HONOR Choice Watch 2i or Watch X5i.

Cell C

Cell C’s online range focused on the X series: the X6e, X7e and X7d.

Popular Models on Contract

HONOR X series

The X series is HONOR’s most widely listed range, appearing at all four networks. Models such as the X6e, X6c and X5c Plus sit at the entry level, while the X7e, X7d 5G and X9d move up in features. These suit everyday use; Cell C’s listings showed battery capacities of 6,500mAh to 7,500mAh on the X6e, X7e and X7d. Check storage, 5G support and whether a bundled device is included.

HONOR 600 series

The HONOR 600 Lite, 600 and 600 Pro were the newest mid-range models on network listings. The 600 Lite and 600 were each listed at Vodacom, MTN and Telkom, while the 600 Pro 5G was seen at MTN. Compare the 600 Lite against the X9d if you want a balance of features and cost.

HONOR 400 series

The HONOR 400 and 400 Pro were still listed at Vodacom. As previous-generation models, they can be worth comparing against the 600 series if the monthly cost is lower.

HONOR Magic8 Pro and Magic V5

HONOR’s flagship and foldable options, both listed at Vodacom. Foldables carry high monthly payments and expensive repairs, so check total cost and insurance before signing.

Compare Monthly Prices and Contract Terms

We don’t publish monthly HONOR prices here because they change often and depend on the plan, term and bundle. Compare offers using these checks:

What to compare Why it matters
Monthly payment “From” prices are tied to a specific plan and term
Contract term MTN and Cell C listings showed 36-month pricing; Cell C also filters 24-month options
Plan inclusions Data, minutes and SMS vary between plans
Bundle contents A watch, earbuds or tablet may raise the monthly payment
Once-off fees Cell C notes most new contracts carry a once-off SIM and connection fee
Eligibility Some HONOR 600 series offers were upgrade-only at MTN
Total cost Monthly payment across the full term plus fees

When comparing a bundle with a phone-only deal on the same network, work out the difference in monthly payment across the whole term. That figure is what the extra device really costs you.

Double Deals and Device Bundles

HONOR featured in many bundle offers when we checked, and the structures differ:

For any bundle, check:

How to Choose the Right Deal

1. Choose the series. X series for budget, 600 or 400 series for mid-range, Magic for flagship and foldable. 2. Decide if you want a bundle. Only pay for extras you’ll use. 3. Compare the same model across networks. Telkom and Vodacom bundles differ from MTN and Cell C phone-only deals. 4. Check eligibility. Some offers are upgrade-only or online-only. 5. Look at the total cost across 24 or 36 months, including once-off fees. 6. Check software support. Ask how long the model is expected to receive updates. 7. Check coverage in the areas where you’ll use the phone.

New contract, upgrade or switching networks

If you’re an existing contract customer, check your upgrade date before comparing, because some HONOR 600 series offers at MTN were limited to upgrades when we checked. If you’re switching networks, confirm you can port your number and whether the offer you’re looking at applies to ported lines. If you’re new to contracts, compare a lower-cost X series deal against a SIM-only plan with a phone you already own, as that can reduce your total commitment.

Comparing HONOR with similar brands

HONOR’s X and 600 series compete with mid-range phones from other Android brands at similar monthly prices. When comparing, line up the same storage size, the same contract term and similar plan inclusions. Differences in bundled extras, software update periods and repair support can matter more over 36 months than small differences in the headline monthly figure.

What you may need to apply

Contracts are subject to credit and affordability checks, and approval depends on the provider’s assessment. Cell C, for example, lists a valid South African ID, recent proof of residence and recent bank statements or payslips. Check each network’s requirements before applying.
